Gabriel is a multi-faceted, veteran Software Engineer and people manager whose passions revolve around distributed systems and researching methods for improving their performance at scale. Gabriel enjoys helping other engineers learn about new technologies and practices that improve upon reliability, speed, and security. He pursues architecture patterns consuming terabytes of streaming data to contribute back to the open source community in his conference talks.

Gabriel currently serves as a Principal Founding Engineer at a new pre-seed startup. Gabriel currently works designing high-throughput API Gateways, State Machines, Workflows, service meshes, and Engineering Governance at scale.

Prior to his current venture, Gabriel was at Snyk as an Engineering Manager of the Platform Foundations team. He worked on Authentication, Authorization, API Program DevEx, and distributed auditing systems.

Gabriel worked on Cloud Database Infrastructure at Bloomberg. Gabriel has served as the Manager for Growth Engineering team at SoulCycle, helping design new consumer and community engagement at SoulCycle platform while mentoring team members on best practices for databases, distributed systems, postmortem root-cause analysis, and Mean Time To Resolution (MTTR).

Gabriel was also previously a Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer for the Heroku Data Team at Salesforce. Gabriel worked on fleet orchestration and infrastructure optimization for Heroku’s Data Services and was deeply involved in Change Data Capture (CDC).

When Gabriel takes a break from his engineering duties, he continues to pursue his passions in acting, singing, hiking, fitness, and traveling across the globe.
